Insights From Our Product Meeting Via the Spiky Platform

13 Dec 2022

A group of individuals engaged in conversation while seated at a cafe table, captured for analysis on the Spiky platform.

The top question we get from people is whether we are using our platform. The answer is, of course, we are using it!

We analyze our online meetings with potential customers and in-house product and team meetings and gain actionable insights to improve the efficiency and inclusivity of our meetings.

Let's take a look at one of our product meeting outcomes.

Team-level insights

In our platform, we have four main team-level insights so that you can understand the overall participants’ structure, reasons for reactions, and meeting distribution:

1. Team metrics distribution

After a tiring long product meeting - 54 minutes in our case (yeap, we have so much to discuss in our weekly product meetings ), it is so natural to forget about attention, emotion, and inclusivity of yourself and others. It is very natural not to pay any attention to these metrics.

During the 13th minute, one of the participants shared a big surprise, so the overall surprise level increased - do you have any thoughts about what that might be?

We also analyze our attention and inclusivity distributions during our meeting in the same graph, but we don't want to overload you here. So if you are excited about the deeper dive of the analysis, check out this page!

2. Team attention & emotion highlights

You have the distribution graph with ups and downs - but you also need the reasons. For example, the average emotion level could jump up at any moment, but what happened?

For our meeting, our algorithms correlate happy vocal tone and optimistic language to the attention and emotion increases - irony language to attention drop. We really shouldn’t have used irony in our meeting! It cost us 30% attention level of the participants.

3. Average team stats

Remember the distribution graph? Yes - we also show the average of it to make our lives easier, so we don't need to calculate the average ratios manually. But sometimes, this might be harsh - as you can see, during the product meetings, the inclusivity level differs from what we expected. We cover the previous and current week's todos. Mostly, team leads speak, as shown in the inclusivity averages.

This graph tells us the average inclusivity score of the participants is 56% - and we need to increase this ratio by motivating people to speak up, share their thoughts, or do something else.

4. Communication metrics

During any meeting, there are speakers and listeners. Their interactions create inclusivity among participants, whether in sales or team meetings.

In the communication metrics table, we understand the members' interactions during the meetings and the number of times they interacted. The darker the color of the boxes, the higher the interaction rate among the members of the meeting :) Did you catch our most talkative and interactive team member among us?

Did you love this?

After every meeting we record, we analyze them in our platform to create actionable insights for ourselves and the people we meet. We aim to improve their experience.

This article looked at the team-level insights in one of our product meetings. It shows the overall participants' structure, reasons for reactions, and meeting distribution. We also share some of our conclusions with you - feel free to send us your thoughts!

In the next part of this writing, we will analyze the member-level insights of the same meeting. Seeing and understanding the platform with actual data is exciting, right? If you're as excited as we are when looking at these results, visit the product page and start using the platform today.
